Welcome to Greater Stonegate Village

GSV is an intergenerational network of neighbors helping neighbors. Through stimulating educational programs and friendly social events, along with support services such as friendly visiting, transportation, handyman services, and technology help provided by Stonegate volunteers, the Greater Stonegate Village is enabling older residents in the Greater Stonegate Community to successfully age in place. Through these services and activities, our older residents remain engaged, active and supported, while the community connections of the Greater Stonegate neighborhood are strengthened by the volunteers of all ages who have joined our growing Village!

We welcome everyone who lives in the Greater Stonegate Community to join us.

Upcoming Events

The Greater Stonegate Village is pleased to announce an important upcoming program: Understanding Alzheimers Disease and Dementia.  Alzheimer's is not a normal part of aging; it is a progressive brain disease and is the most common form of dementia.  This program will help us to understand how Alzheimer's affects the brain, warning signs, detection, causes, risk factors, and treatment.  Also covered will be information and tips from the latest research on how we can adopt lifestyle changes that may help to maintain or even potentially improve our health and possibly delay the onset of cognitive decline.

Mark Your Calendars for Upcoming Programs:
April 16:    Hector Vargas on Exercise for Seniors
May  21:    AARP on Adapting Homes for Aging in Place
Yoga Group Forming:
December last year Audrey Ho, certified Yoga instructor and Stonegate resident, led a session on Yoga for Every Body.  Many attendees expressed a desire to continue working with Audrey and she has sent me a plan for a 5 week program of one hour sessions that would meet once a week.  If we get a minimum of six students, the cost per students would be $60 for the series.  A regular day/time that works for everyone will be determined later on if there is enough interest.  Please let me know if you would like to join us.

Please RSVP to Geri Cooperman at or at 301-384-6468.
